I’ve been a fan of the laser-cut work of Martin Tomsky for a while, I love the way he uses coloured woods in his laser-cut art. Curious, I dropped him a note on twitter to ask where he got his coloured woods from. Turns out he spray paints it before cutting – something that I could try.
I bought a handful of acrylic sprays and set to work.
A couple of coats on some offcuts
I left them to dry completely before starting the cutting.
These parts make up a gear from the Gear Train project
I wasn’t sure which glue to use so I went with my usual PVA – it worked a treat.
And here are the results. Not bad for a fist attempt!
