It turns out that you can cut 1400 micron card in the laser cutter and it looks really neat. As a paper engineer this opens all sorts of possibilities for models and designs. This is a new field for me and I’m now trying to get a few mechanisms and techniques under my belt so that I can apply them to new models.
I’ve started with a simple joint and a gear. I’m away for a couple of days but on my return I’ll be releasing these as downloadable projects for anyone with a laser cutter or sharp knife to try out. Meanwhile here are a couple of Instagram video to keep you going.
