An as yet unnamed paper character that has taken shape while I'm waiting for coloured card to arrive for the dodo project. Lift the head on the character and the tongue pops out.

The mechanism uses a tongue mounted on top of a couple of parallel linkages. (A four bar linkage) The inside top of the head is connected to the back of the tongue with a long tab. Lift the head and the tongue pops out.

The arms are glued to the body, they lift up and down as the head moves. I'll be shaping the body a little more and adding some details. As a proof of concept, though, I'm rather pleased 🙂
