I’ve completed the final layout for the Gears & Cam model. The model will feature a 4:1 reduction gear and a pair of cams. In the prototype I’ve fitted two different cams, one of them with four lobes, one with a single lobe. The large gear is a friction fit so it can be removed easily and a new set of cams fitted, great for experimentation!

I’ll be fitting the triangle ends onto both cam followers, like the cam follower on the right. The triangle lets the follower more accurately track the profile of the cam.
