I'm putting together a simple gift box based around an idea my brother sent me. My starting point net is pictured above.

I put the box together, it sort of worked but had this large gap at the top.

In the second version I have rotated the diagonal corner lines by two degrees. 

That got rid of the gap at the top but now the box sides are slightly too recessed.

Mk III, this time with the diagonals turned by only one degree.

Each diagonal is now forty four degrees rather than forty five.

That works rather nicely. The gaps at the top are covered and the sides are only slightly indented.

The single sheet locks closed with a simple tab and opens up to reveal the box contents. 

Now to make a interesting patterned design then I'll make it available as a member's download.
