I’m adding a poseable head and neck to the dinosaur model I’m working on. Rather than completely remake the model I’ve cut out the existing head and neck and designed the moveable parts on the computer.
The tube that connects the end of the neck to the body needed a sloping profile to match the slope in the body.
To make this I dropped a sine wave (shown in red) that I have in my file library onto the parts in Illustrator and stretched it to fit. Once curved round and glued this make a nicely sloping part.
The part fits nicely into the hacked body ready to glue into place.
The finished joint works nicely! The head and neck parts are already in the computer, next step, scan in an convert the parts for the body tail and legs…
