With the help of TC-the-Cat I put together a base for the updated version of the Paper Globe. I’ve gone for a bevelled hexagonal plinth. The upright section shown to the right here was slightly too long so I trimmed off 10mm before assembly.

An inverted view shows how the base and upright fit together.

The globe needs to be mounted with the correct axial tilt – 23.5° just like the real earth. I’ll add some sort of guide or markings on the frame to make this as accurate as possible.
Next step – layout the parts properly and add some colour.
