The 9:24 Mesh Gear is a new addition to the set of Essential Mechanisms on www.robives.com Each of these projects is a downloadable project for you to print out and make then use as the starting point for your own character based paper animation kits.

The kit comes as a pdf file containing all the parts and step by step instruction to make your own mesh gear project. As the crank handle is turned the nine tooth pinion gear drives against the twenty four tooth main turning it at a reduced speed of just over one third speed. The big gear is connected to a vertical shaft which turns slowly as the handle is cranked.
